CapitalWorks is pleased to announce and welcome Steve Hruby and Georgio Ronis to the firm.
Steve Hruby has joined CapitalWorks as a Senior Associate. His primary responsibilities include screening and analysis of acquisition opportunities, conducting due diligence and procuring deal financing. He will also assist current portfolio companies with various projects as well as governance and monitoring initiatives.
Prior to joining CapitalWorks and attending business school, Mr. Hruby held various transaction advisory positions. Most recently, he was a manager in Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance (Valuation, Modeling & Economics) practice, leading engagements in the appraisal of assets for management planning and corporate strategy, transaction, financial reporting, and tax/regulatory compliance purposes. Previously, Mr. Hruby was an investment banker for Piper Jaffray (now Piper Sandler), focusing on buy and sell-side M&A, IPOs, and private placements. Additionally, Mr. Hruby also spent time in Ernst & Young’s Transaction Diligence group where he performed financial due diligence on M&A transactions, preparing quality of earnings analyses for clients. He began his professional career as an auditor in PwC’s assurance practice.
Mr. Hruby majored in Accountancy and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University where he graduated summa cum laude. He will receive his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College next month. Mr. Hruby also holds his CFA Charter as well as his CPA license in the state of Ohio.
Georgio Ronis has joined CapitalWorks as an Associate. His primary responsibilities include initial deal screening and evaluation of acquisition opportunities, deal execution and financing. He assists current portfolio companies with project execution along with corporate governance and monitoring internal operations.
Prior to joining CapitalWorks, Mr. Ronis worked as an investment banking associate at Robert W. Baird. At Baird, Mr. Ronis was a member of the Industrial Group where he advised public and private middle market companies on sell-side, carve-out divestiture and buy-side transactions. His primary responsibilities consisted of financial modeling, industry research, deal marketing and financial and business due diligence.
Mr. Ronis received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
